It is fantastic news to have the Government funding backing for summer festivals and events. This is a massive deal for us as a small family-owned event business it has given us the financial certainty to carry on planning. Plus it also means that if Equifest is cancelled due to Covid we will offer a refund on tickets (excluding the small admin fee).
With the threat of COVID hanging heavily over our planning, we have fielded a large number of queries regarding the event and clarification on vaccination passports. It is also now clear that if you wish to attend Equifest 2022, you will need to be vaccinated. Events over 100 people have no option to operate at any traffic light colour without the vaccine passport. Equifest respects that each individual has the right to choose to be vaccinated or not, and we hope you can sympathise with us that this decision is out of our control and for our survival and the future of the event we are bound by New Zealand Government legislation in order to run this event.
We have also decided to extend refunds for those people who have purchased tickets before the vaccine mandate and can't attend due to the circumstances. Refunds will be available until Wednesday 1st December.
For those of you seeking Vaccine Passport exceptions, only Ministry of Health Exceptions will be approved.
